A Web Design Love Story

In the Beginning—

On another blistering summer day under the South-East Texas sun, three junior high boys abandoned any hope of enjoying the day outdoors and turned to their game boys and Pokémon cartridges. As did most of the kids they knew, after defeating the main game objectives, they had turned to cheat codes and Game Sharks ©.

This was all the age of Angelfire© and Geocities©, mind you, and creating a Web site was a matter of opening an account and typing some words. They decided that their Angelfire© account would become the premiere Pokémon cheat code resource for the planet. However when they discovered that they had no idea how to place a line break into their Web site, much less that something called HTML existed they abandoned the project and returned to their games.

Growth in a Craft—

Since that day I have been intrigued by the world of Web design, first came HTML, tables and JavaScript, then came HTML and CSS, followed closely by PHP and databases. I spend most of my time reading Web design trend articles, and practicing my craft.

I love the thrill of designing new layouts for people or myself, especially when I’m hit with a stroke of inspiration and can hardly contain my ideas. While I enjoy designing, my true passion lays within coding. The Wordpress organization’s motto says it better than I think I could have, “Code is Poetry”. The elements used to construct stanzas of Web beauty are why I do this.

Continuing the Experience—

Since I started out in the Web world, I’ve graduated from high school, received a bachelor’s degree, and moved across the country. Now I spend a lot of focus on finding new clients and building my portfolio. Where Web design and development will take me in the future, I’m not sure. However I look forward to working with each and every client that gives me the opportunity to work with them.
